Dr. Joseph Son
Dr. Joseph Son received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Michigan in 2000, and received his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from the same university in 2004. Afterwards, Dr. Son completed a General Practice Residency at the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio, where he was trained to manage medically compromised patients. Dr. Son then was accepted into the endodontic residency program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he received his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.
During his residency, Dr. Son received numerous honors and prestigious awards. He also received numerous awards for his research "VEGF expression in human dental pulp cells by Porphyromonas endodontalis lipopolysaccharide." including winning the first place in the poster research presentation at the American Assocation of Endodontist national conference. Dr. Son also received the Robert Ellision Award and John F. Corcoran Award for his outstanding knowledge of the endodontic literature and in the process of board certification.
Dr. Son founded Capital Endodontics and Microsurgical Center in 2010 in order to provide personalized treatment for his patients with the most up-to-date, cutting-edge technology to ensure the best quality of care in the most comfortable environment. Dr. Son resides in Rockville, Maryland with his wife Sophia and lovely children Rachel and Daniel.
Dr. Constance Wentworth
Dr. Constance Wentworth grew up in Potomac, Maryland and graduated from Winston Churchill High School. She attended the University of Maryland, College Park and graduated with a degree in biochemistry. She then went on to receive her dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated with Clinical Honors. After dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center. She continued her postdoctoral training and received her Endodontic Certificate at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Wentworth is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a member of the American Dental Association and American Association of Endodontists. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and providing her patients comfortable endodontic therapy
Dr. Wentworth has been in private practice since 2014. She has recently moved back to her hometown with her husband and daughter. Dr. Wentworth’s priority is always to provide the best quality and comfort for her patients and she practices with the most up to date technology and techniques to help achieve this outcome. She is thrilled to return home to the Potomac area and to be a part of Capital Endodontics.
Dr. Esther Choo
Dr. Esther Choo is a distinguished endodontist with a decade of comprehensive experience in both general and specialized dental care. A graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry, Dr Choo earned her DMD in 2013, demonstrating exceptional academic and clinical proficiency. Following her graduation, Dr. Choo dedicated nine years of service to the United States Army, where she honed her skills and provided high-quality dental care to service members. Her military tenure is marked by a commitment to excellence and a dedication to the well-being of her patients, earning her a reputation as a compassionate and skilled practitioner.
In 2024, Dr. Choo completed her Endodontic residency at New York University, further specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex dental conditions. Her advanced training has equipped her with the expertise to perform intricate endodontic procedures with precision and care.
Dr. Choo is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics, staying abreast of the latest advancements in her field and continuously enhancing her practice through professional development.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Choo is passionate about hiking and traveling, often exploring new trails and destinations with her beloved Doodle, Bella. Her love for nature and adventure complements her dedication to providing empathetic and patient-centered care. Dr. Esther Choo's blend of military discipline, advanced endodontic training, and a compassionate approach to dentistry makes her a respected and trusted endodontist.
